Other Programs

While the major focus of the Seminary is upon the M.Div. and M.T.S. degree programs, several other courses of study have been established to meet the needs of those preparing for other dimensions of ministry. We offer a Diploma Program, a Training in Ministry Certificate Program, and a Missionary Candidate Certificate Program.

Diploma in Theology Program
Program Requirements
This program is for a limited number of mature students who do not have a baccalaureate degree, but have demonstrated that they can do satisfactory work at a graduate level. Candidates for the diploma of the Seminary have the same requirements for graduation as candidates for the M.Div. degree.

Training in Ministry Certificate Program
Program Requirements
This two-year (90 quarter hours) program is designed to develop and enrich specific areas of ministry. It includes basic courses in each of the departments of the Seminary curriculum, but does not require original languages or homiletics. A training in Ministry Certificate will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete this program.

Missionary Candidate Certificate Program
This one-year (45 quarter hours) course of study is designed to help prepare men and women who are called to serve on the mission field. The Seminary cooperates with mission boards to adapt this program to their requirements. Applicants without a college degree may enroll in this program if they are certified by a mission board. A Missionary Candidate Certificate will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete this program.

Servant of the Church Certificate Program

Program Requirements
The Seminary offers a certificate to men and women who wish to deepen their understanding of the faith and enhance their usefulness to the church. This certificate requires completion of eight courses for credit, as follows: three courses in Pastoral Ministry; two in Systematic Theology; two in Biblical Studies; and one in Church History.  Upon acceptance into this program, the student's advisor will discuss with him/her the choices available to the student.  A Servant of the Church Certificate, based upon the completion of the required number of courses, will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete this program.
