When Faith Mattered
Rediscovering the Religious Foundations of American Freedom Under Law
Lectures by Jack Kinneer, Adjunct Professor of New Testament Studies at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pittsburrgh, and Associate Pastor of Pioneer Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, PA.

Imagine a setting where a Presbyterian theologian and educator, who taught both theology and political theory, was a teacher of a number of prominent politicians. Now imagine that those politicians and their teacher were all delegates to a political assembly which would declare the independence of that people from a great world power, and begin the work of laying the legal foundation for that new nation. Such would be unthinkable in today's secularized and socialist-leaning America. But this is the actual story of America's founding.
In this four-lecture conference Dr. Kinneer will explore the various ways in which Christian leaders and Christian faith provided the foundations for such essentially American ideas as inalienable rights, a government of the people, liberty of conscience and the separation of Church and State as the means to make the State subservient to the will of God.
America is at a crossroads today. Will it be socialism or individual freedom? Will it be government of the people or subjugation of citizens to a nearly omnipresent bureaucracy? In this great time of decision about the American future, Christians are largely silent because they are both ignorant of their own heritage, and intimidated by the chorus of secularists who decry any mention of Christian faith and Christian ideas in the public square.
If such a description fits you, then this conference is for you!
