Mrs. Roselyn Stewart, Wife of RPTS President Emeritus Dr. Bruce Stewart, Dies at Age 82

Mrs. Roselyn Stewart, wife of RPTS President Emeritus Dr. Bruce Stewart, was taken to be with the Lord last Saturday night, May 31, at 9:20 p.m., EDT.  She was 82.

She and Dr. Stewart had gone to San Diego for the wedding of a granddaughter, and she took a severe turn downward on Saturday, a week ago.  She had been diagnosed prior to their trip with pulmonary fibrosis, but but a biopsy revealed that she had an advanced case of interstitial pneumonia .  They had her on a ventilator and feeding tube for a few days, but last Saturday evening they decided to remove these two life-support systems.  Three of her children, Doug, Don, and Cyndi, were with Dr. Stewart when she passed into glory.  Don's wife, Sue, and Doug's wife, Lucy, were also with them.  Brad and Betsy have met with Dr. Stewart now that he has returned to Pittsburgh.

The Stewarts had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Roselyn served faithfully as a pastor's wife in congregations in Cambridge, MA, Greeley, CO, and Los Angeles, CA. When her husband was elected as Professor of Pastoral Theology and as President of the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, she served at his side for 23 years in planning formal and social activities for faculty and students. She was a life long member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church expressing her faith in Christ with her loving service.
