Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Jordan Feagley. I grew up in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, a small rural farming community in the central part of the state. After graduating from high school I attended Geneva College, majoring in music. While I was a student at Geneva I began to attend College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church and became convinced of the reformed faith. A few years later, I began to sense the Lord calling me into ministry. After talking with my pastor and elders about my sense of call, they encouraged me to attend RPTS. I am now in my second year at seminary, and am doing a year long internship with College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church.
What are you studying at RPTS?
I am in the Master of Divinity program.
Why did you choose RPTS?
I chose RPTS for two reasons. (1.) I am a member of the RPCNA and committed to the denomination. So, I felt that RPTS was the best place to learn more about reformed theology, and our denomination. (2.) The small class class sizes mean that students have more personal interaction with the professors.
What classes are you finding the most helpful for ministry?
I think the two classes that I am finding most helpful for ministry are preaching and biblical counseling. The preaching classes are very practical and help us as we prepare for future ministry. Also, Dr. Prutow's preaching method is very useful(especially for those just learning to preach) and gives the preacher a formula for putting his sermon together. If you accurately follow Dr. Prutow's method, things seem to fall into place fairly easily. I find the biblical counseling courses very beneficial as well. A major part of ministry is pastoral counseling, and Dr. Scipione's courses help to prepare us for this aspect of ministry.
What are your plans for the future?
After graduating from RPTS, I hope to serve the RPCNA as a pastor.
