Day of Giving | October 4, 2011

Dear Friend of the Seminary:

RPTS has a very unique opportunity to multiply your financial support this fall! The Pittsburgh Foundation, one of the country’s largest community foundations, will be sponsoring a Day of Giving on October 4, 2011. Donations made to RPTS on that day will be matched by the Pittsburgh Foundation, thereby increasing your gift to the Seminary. The Pittsburgh Foundation helps local charitable foundations pool their resources for effectiveness which they then share with local organizations such as RPTS. We have great faith in the Pittsburgh Foundation and their ability to support the Seminary.

Here is how it works:

On October 4, 2011, go to this link: www.pittsburghgives.org.

Select RPTS and make a donation with your credit card. (This assumes that you are comfortable making gifts via credit cards, and then paying your balance the following month. We understand that this means of giving is not for everyone).

The Pittsburgh Foundation will match part of your donation.
How much will they match? We will not know until after the event has closed for the day, however a similar event for other organizations saw a match of around thirty cents on each dollar. If this pattern were to continue, this would mean that a gift of $100, for example, would provide the Seminary with $130. A gift of $1,000 would provide $1,300 to RPTS.

Regardless of the amount matched by the Pittsburgh Foundation, RPTS will get your full donation.

The match of your gift can have a significant benefit for the Seminary. You can help maximize that gift in several ways:

If you are a monthly supporter, consider making your donation on this specific day, or perhaps even give the equivalent of several months on this special day of giving.

If you give occasionally or perhaps once or twice a year, consider making your gift on this day.

Prayerfully consider making an additional gift on this date.
